You return to Twainbrook and confront the merchant, who denies having stolen from you and is offended at being accused of selling
 +
 +
stolen goods.  He objects vociferously but doesn't do much of anything. So you turn to the son who is standing right next to the
 +
 +
merchant.
 +
 +
 +
The merchant's son is less happy about this.  He is particularly offended when you start badmouthing his mother.  At that point
 +
 +
the merchant, the son and the two soldiers attack you.
 +
 +
 +
Of course, now that you have been attacked, you have to defend yourself.  None of them survive.
 +
 +
Your next step is to clear things up with Shauir.  There is no one to contradict you, so you blame it all on the merchant and his
 +
 +
son.
 +
 +
Now to talk to Commander Shauir again.  You go ahead and blame it all on the merchant and his son.  The commander thanks you for reporting back and asks you to take his report to the general in Thysylium.
 +
 +
General Whimsical is shocked at the idea that Tybasso and his family would sell stolen goods.  He gives you a stolen shield to try to sell to the family in order to get proof.
 +
 +
On your way to the DeElfici home, you are stopped by a soldier.  He lets you pass as soon as you show him the promissory note.
 +
 +
Tybasso is not home.  However his wife, Hyderia, is. As soon as you give her the note and the shield, she recognizes the shield as stolen and calls for the guard.  She also attacks you.  YOu end up killing her and several guards.
 +
 +
 +
You believe no witnesses survived, you go back to where the general is and find Tybasso there.  You report to Tybasso that his wife and the guards were all dead when you got there.  He tells you it is all a conspiracy and he believes that someone named Dylaith is behind it.
 +
 +
You need to look in the sewers.  When you talk to the head of this group, Varnar, you realize that there are witnesses.  Varnar wants you to join his little "family".  He points out that a number of guards followed you into the sewers.  After killing them all you need to talk to Varnar again.
 +
 +
He offers to let you return Tybasso's grandson, Glydial, as a way of worming your way into the family's good graces.  You reject his offer of adoption.  Now you have to kill Varnar and his group of bandits.
 +
 +
When that is done the only one left standing, other than yourself is Glydial.  You talk to him and learn that he is as anxious that his grandfather not find out what happened down in the sewers as you are.
 +
 +
Take him back to his grandfather.  You will need to talk to Tybasso twice to complete this quest.
