Detailed Walkthrough
Near the southeast gate of Artamark, Scholar Farek is looking for someone to help him. He's in search of a rare book. He wants you to visit the herb woman at her home to find out if she knows where a copy can be found. To help you along, he's sending his assistant Heribert along with you.
| ||
You hit the road with Heribert and go to the old woman's home. She thinks there's a copy of it in a long lost library east of Artamark's Gate.

Heribert will go along with you to the library. When you get there, he will tell you he's NOT going in as there are all manner of vermin in the underground library. So you wind up going in alone and find it heavily infested with ghosts and rats. Eliminate them all and make your way to the room with the book. Grab it and make your way out to the surface.

Heribert will confirm that you have found the book and would like to go back to Artamark's Gate. {sigh} Don't you just hate lily-livered cowards?
| ||
Make your way back to Farek's location and talk to him. He will thank you for the book and as he opens it, a letter drops out of the book. A quick look at the book confirms the location of a long lost village in north east Artamark. Farek would like you to investigate to see if you can find any trace of the town and maybe confirm the contents of the letter.
| ||
| ||
Make your way east on the road heading out of Artamark's Gate until you come across a resurrection monolith on the side of the road. Another road branches off to the south from there. Follow the road all the way up to the bridge where you will find a guard standing who will tell you they're at war with a neighboring barony and he can't let you pass without permission from the Baron.
| ||
| ||
| ||
Of course, this is rather difficult given the baron of the area has been dead at least as long as the guard.
