Detailed Walkthrough
You wake in an old crypt and were attacked by Tybor. Well you may not be technically alive anymore but you haven't forgotten how to fight. Tybor is easily defeated. As he falls you notice a paper in one of his pockets. You retrieve the paper and realize it's a list of fallen comrades from your command. And your name is on it. You don't understand what has happened to you so you head off to your old command west of Sloeford. You arrive at the High Elf Outpost and talk to Officer Sin'doral.
| ||
| ||
He seems to know you and says your unit was wiped out by kobolds. You show him the list, and he wants to believe your story but the soldier in him demands more proof. He suggests that you find your fallen comrades' dog tags as confirmation of your story. Dog tags? How in the hell am I supposed to find those? But you remember kobolds are scavengers and love to loot the dead so you hope you can find some of them still around and see if they kept a couple. You head out in the surrounding area and are able to find 5 dog tags off of the kobolds you have exacted your vengeance on. Hope 5 of them is enough and you head back to Sin'doral. He begs your forgiveness for being suspicious. Seems there's been problems with recently resurrected beings.
The dog tags prove your story to him and he issues an order that will grant you access into the main camp. You head out towards the camp and just east of Twainbrook you run across another Ex-Soldier recently brought back from the dead. There's not much left of this one. Probably some poor old veteran that wandered off. He even has a note on him that reads 'Harmless! Please bring me back to the chicken farm!"
| ||
| ||
You take pity on the old zombie and decide to escort him back home. Head north past Benny's Corn Circles to a small enclave on a hill. Sure enough there's the Caretaker. He thanks you for returning his wayward veteran. Seems he runs a sort of 'retirement home' for ex-soldiers before they return to dust. He tells you that there are those that vehemently oppose resurrections and kidnap them.

He asks you to give them a good thrashing so maybe they'll think twice before trying to kidnap the ex-soldiers for awhile. You look around and can kind of understand why they night be against it, but agree and head off a short distance to the west and find 5 of the Resurrection Opponents at a small camp. You easily take them down. You realize one of them is still alive and decide to speak with him. He asks you to read a document. He says maybe you'll understand why. You take the document and take a look at it. It's called 'Resurrections - The Naked Truth'. It explains that many resurrections go badly and the zombies are all messed up. They're worse off than when they were dead. it also states the the soldiers family is never told what is done to them after death. They're officially classified a dead and missing. I wonder if that is what happened to me?
| ||
| ||
You decide to head back and confront the caretaker about what you've learned. Oops, hit a nerve there....he doesn't want me prying these matters. The Caretaker and his Guards attack you. You easily send them to their deaths. You look through his house and find a 'List With Names and Badge Numbers' and find out that your name and badge number is on the list!
| ||
You then hear a commotion over in the pens. You head over see that the old ex-soldiers must have smelt the blood and have gone into a killing frenzy. You have no choice but to eliminate them. May they finally rest in peace. is this my fate once I no longer have any value to them?
