Anducar is the main antagonist in the game Sacred Underworld. He is a dark magician and a powerful shapeshifter who cruelly rules over Menelgond. While some believe Anducar is human, he can also transform into a demon, a form that many speculate is his true nature.

His mastery over deadly magic, ability to summon demons, and power to manipulate the minds of entire groups of people make him a fearsome ruler. Anducar's reign is marked by tyranny and manipulation, and he seeks nothing less than complete domination of both the living and the dead.

In the Spanish and Italian versions of the game, he is called Handukar.

Anducar's Past

The origins of Anducar are shrouded in mystery. No one knows where he came from, but he quickly rose to power, spreading his influence across the land of Menelgond.

One of Anducar's first major acts was deceiving the Garema people, tricking them into rebelling against their leader, Hoxar. He led them into devastating battles that wiped them out completely. These once-proud people were reduced to undead beings, known as the Nuk-Nuk, with no memory of their former lives.

Anducar’s claimed the fortress of the Ancient People, reigning unseen and unknown by the general populace. He abducted Dwarves, Dryads and humans from the upperworld, forcing them into servitude.

During this period, Anducar explored the Depths of Death, a place where he could control not only the living in Menelgond but also the souls of the dead.

To strengthen his control, Anducar created the Subkari, four powerful demon lords, each one crafted from a member of a different race: the Ancient People, Humans, Dwarves, and Dryads. With these terrifying servants, he subdued the Dwarves and brought them to the edge of the Depths of Death.

In his cruelty, Anducar cursed the humans he captured, transforming them into creatures called Mohkva. These humans were trapped in Menelgond forever, unable to return to the upper world.

Though Anducar could have easily destroyed the Dryads, he chose to spare them, perhaps seeing future utility in keeping them alive. However, he besieged their forest with dark creatures to keep them isolated and under pressure.

Finally, Anducar ordered the construction of a massive gate outside his fortress, designed to keep intruders at bay. The gate could only be opened by inserting four magical glyphs, which Anducar scattered across the underworld. The glyphs were fiercely guarded by his Subkari, ensuring that no one could disturb his fortress or his dark plans.

The Dwarves who had labored on his fortress were only kept alive by Anducar's magic. After their work was completed, he cruelly withdrew his magical energy from them, causing them to die instantly where they lay.

Seeking to repopulate Menelgond with beings of his own design, Anducar created a new race known as the Haduk, stocky and simple-minded creatures, to inhabit his dark realm.

Now that Anducar controls the underworld, his desire is to control upperworld as well.

Anducar in Underworld Campaign

At the start of the Sacred Underworld campaign, Anducar's manipulations begin by infiltrating the dreams of Baroness Vilya. He causes her to dream of her deceased fiancé, Prince Valor, driving her to open a portal to the Underworld in an attempt to reunite with him. When Alcalata opens the portal in the Forge of the Ancestors, the subkari Ssskrak kills Alcalata and kidnap Vilya.

We don't see him until the end of the campaign, when we reach his fortress and defeat him first in human form and then in demon form.
