Quick Walkthrough
Break the Peculiar Vase to receive a message that something was hidden in it. Pick up the Drenched Farewell Letter to receive the quest. Head all the way back to Nimantus the Lumberjack (Brigand Camp West of Sloeford) and talk to him for your reward.

Pick up the Drenched Farewell Letter to receive the quest. Go and talk to Nimantus the Lumberjack (see map below for a possible route) for your reward.
Logbook Entry
I have found a letter inside a jar:
Dear father,
You wanted to force me to marry that slimy astronomer Nomengalus, that’s why I ran away. No only did I have no affection for the old Elf, I was also in love with Feniwyn. We weren’t careful enough though, a band of Kobolds ambushed us. My beloved Feniwyn fought valiantly, but there were too many of them so I ran away in fear. I can still hear the beasts and I know they will be back. I won’t make it out of here alive.
Traveller if you find this letter, take it to my father. His name is Nimantus, and he’s a lumberjack who lives near the mage tower.
He has to hear about my fate and realize his guilt in our death.
I’ve delivered the sad news to the father. My task is complete now.

Note: This is an easily earned lump of EXP, especially if you have the Resurrection Monument near the Brigand Camp active.
