Alcalata the Wise is the master of the Battle Mage.

If you play as a Battle Mage, you will speak with him at the beginning of the campaign, he will perform one last test on you before letting you go and finishing his teachings, you will have to kill a troll.

If you play another character, you will be able to see Alcalata fighting the troll himself, after he kills the troll, he will teleport away.

At the end of the Ancarian Campaign, he appears and mourns the death of Prince Valor at the hands of Shaddar.

At the beginning of the Underworld campaign, Alcalata is tasked with opening the portal to Underworld on the orders of Baroness Vilya, after that he is promptly killed by the Subkari Ssskrak with a meteor storm spell.

In the Spanish and Italian versions of the game, he is called Angalydd.
