Usage Strategies
- This is a premium buff for an Ice Sorceress. It protects from cold damage and adds a percent to defense rating, in addition to causing low level cold damage to all surrounding enemies.
- Bronze and Silver mods: the offensive choices are Freeze and Cold Mastery which will debuff enemies. These debuffs last for 6 seconds, so with Shiver Armor hitting once every 2 seconds, these debuffs can stack up to three times.
- Cold Mastery works like reverse damage mitigation, increasing enemy sensitivity to all cold damage. It can pierce cold immunities and affects even enemies without any cold resistance.
- Bronze and Silver mods: the defensive choices are Frozen Armor and Rime Armor.
- Gold mod: Expertise is the mod of choice for Sorceress who are specializing in other aspects, because it will reduce the regeneration penalty. Cold Sorceresses may find this mod redundant because this buff already has a negligible impact on Cold Spells regeneration times. They may prefer Chilling Armor instead which will boost all inflicted cold damage from all spells and weapons.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Virtually no penalty to the Cold Spells aspect.
- Has both offensive and defensive effects.
Cons
- Penalizes regeneration of other aspects.
