Detailed Walkthrough
Allright, the Story is really of to a great start now. Let's see what else the story has to offer. The last quest ended where a sick girl told us where to find Enadris, the guy who ran the whole slavery operation.
So as soon as the first quest in the second chapter ended, the introduction to the second quest was given. So to get to enadris, follow this path. Make sure you pick up the Wargfels waypoint on the way there, as indicated on the map. If you do it right, enadris should be right at the corner of a house, next to the players stash and monolith. Make sure the monolith is activated, since it will save travelling time further down the road.
He will immediately tell you of his problems, asif it is appropriate to dump that kind of conversation on a stranger. But he ends his tirade with: I'll do whatever you want. So you see yourself an opportunity. All you have to do is kill something he calls a Gar'Colossus, and he'll stop the slavery... Hmm. Better sharpen the axe then.
Follow this path to get to the huge crater in which the colossus resides.
Once you get to the crather, the path along it's edges swirls down. In order to get to where you need to be at the bottom, take the yellow line, after that the red line, and after that the blue (or cyan) line.
On this path you'll notice you reach a small platform as you get to the final part of the blue path. On this platform a green circle will start to glow. If you step on that circle, you will be teleporter to the little collection of tents at the very top of the crater. (HOWEVER: if you activated the monolith at Enadris, don't bother with this path. Just press f12 to end right next to enadris when the colossus is dead).
Once you get to the bottom, a Huge T-mutated stone gollem will be awaiting your arrival. Notice how the blue bar below it's name represents a shield. Take that down first, before you can hit his lifepoints.
As soon as he is dead, claim your rather fortunate droppings (he drops quite a lot, being a big boss), and you'll notice the map displays a small image of gar colossus in the crater, after you defeat him.
When you are finished in the crater, head back to enadris (f12 if you activated the monolith). He will tell you that he will stop the slavetrading (yeah right, I'm muscled, not stupid). He tells you about the elven party, and how he saw another such colossus at a place called 'The place where magic flows from the earth', in orcish territory. He allso mentioned an odd man coming to him, telling you to meet him at the local monastery. Follow this path to meet up with Liosilath in the monastery.
Liosilath will tell you that he heard such rumours before, and it's up to you to discover if more of such T-energy craters exist. But to do this, obviously you need to find your way to the orcish lands. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to scout out the raging orc wars (remember, the story Liosilath told you in the first chapter, at the academy). Follow this path to walk through the border-wall between human and orcish lands (check map). Once you get to the position, follow the other path, to get to your contact. A Grurag warrior (remember? The 2 battling clans are Grurag clan and Ore-thag clan)
Once you get there, you'll see a huge, blue T-energy lake. around this lake are Grurag and Ore tag warriors standing next to eachother, watching the fights. No battle here, as Enadris explained.
Find the Grurag warrior with the (?!) markings above his head, and talk to him to complete the second chapter in the storyline quest.
Logbook Entry
Notes
- note: the hitpoints, damage, and overall statistics of Gar'Colossus are wildly dependant on the level of the characters in the campaign. Don't get pinned on these stats, but see em as a guideline.
- note: Make sure you pick up the Wargfels waypoint on your way to 'Orcish Byway' to meet Enadris.
- note: if you prefer to take the more northern path on your way to 'Orcish Byway', you can pick up the Kufferath Castle WP, directly north of the Wargfels WP. both routes are acceptable, however the Wargfels one is slightly shorter.
