The whole concept behind the "green crystals" quest and the jammed collector refers to the whacky pathfinding of the tiberium harvesters, that (at the best of situations) would get stuck against an obstacle, or, at worst, would end up in the middle of the enemy base...

In Ice & Blood, on the Crystal Plains, when you reach the southern outpost of the seraphim, you can take up aquest named "Green Crystals", which prompts you to locate a malfunctioned seraphim device, the Crystal Collector.

The Crystal Collector is located at the edge of the map, west of the outpost and looks like this:

Anyone who has ever played a Command and Conquer game, will find out that the Crystal Collector looks awfully familiar with the Tiberium Harvester MK I, which is found in Command and Conquer 1: Tiberian Dawn. Not to mention that the green crystals are a lot like a tiberium field...
