Detailed Walkthrough

Although this quest seems quite long, most of it is carried out in and around Sloeford, making it fairly easy for even a low level character to complete. First talk to Hunter Drogo - he and his friend want to hunt a deer.

Lead them North past the two bandits that hide in the trees to where a magnificent stag is standing. Even a novice hunter can appreciate such an animal...if for the wrong reasons.

Kill Drogo and watch his friend run away before you can do the same to him. Head East to where a group of reckless hunters are standing - news travels fast in these parts. Talk to the group's leader and then kill them all.

Continue North into Sloeford and head to the West side of the village where Thelendra wants to talk to you. She tells you that someone called TyBosso DeElfici is forcing his slaves to cut down the forest.

Continue West on the road out of the village, turning North after you pass the fields. Follow the edge of the fields North until you come to a group of four slave overseers. Talk to the one with the ! over his head, then kill all four when they become hostile. Talk to the nearby Slave Theodus to learn of the freed slaves' plans.

Head North from where you fought the overseers until you come to a house by the river. A man, two stable boys, a cow and a slave are standing between the house and the river. Talk to the man, Lohen, and kill him and his two stable boys when they become hostile - the slave will help fight, but runs away and teleports after the three are dead. Time to head back to Sloeford for a word with the Mayor...

The Mayor's house is on the Northeast side of the village. Go in and talk to him, then hill him when he becomes hostile. Something odd is definitely going on, so it's time to get the other side of the story from the Kobolds...

This is the most dangerous part for low level characters. Take your time and kill enemies as you come to them - the easiest way to get in trouble with hordes of Kobolds around is to try to run past them and end up with more aggro than you can handle. Head North out of the village, following the path up towards the Celestial Dome. Head West after you pass under the bridge, until you come to the bridge over the Silken River. Talk to Knickknack the Kobold to end this quest and begin the next in the chain, Kobold Blood.

Notes

• Tip: When it comes to fighting the 5 overseers you might find yourself being rapidly overwhelmed. The trick here is to run away - the overseers will return to their original position before you've gone too far, and you can then pick them off one-by-one at your leisure (this may only be possible after the Ice & Blood expansion)
