As you enter Thylysium through the northern gates you speak with Foreman Damar. His boss, TyBosso is interested in finding the thickest healthiest trees for his ships. Since you're a Dryad, he figures your talents are uniquely suited for this task. He sends you off to his boss in a nearby manor.
TyBosso assumes you're an outcast Dryad and he has a task for you. You quickly disabuse him of that idea and your position on cutting down forests. He orders his Body Guards to attack you. You defeat his guards and start to go after him. But you realize even though you could kill him, he is way too influential in this part of the world. If you kill him your mission will probably be jeopardized. As much as you loathe to do so, you leave his manor without harming him or his business interests.
You defeat his guards and start to go after him. But you realize even though you could kill him, he is way too influential in this part of the world. If you kill him your mission will probably be jeopardized. As much as you loathe to do so, you leave his manor without harming him or his business interests.
You decide to wander this 'forest of stones' and see why makes people live in these places. You end up talking to a young man named Omero. He asks you to deliver a letter to his sweetheart, Joana. Their families are enemies now because of an unfortunate incident. Both families were traveling in a caravan when they were set upon by kobolds. Joana's father was killed while Omero's family wasn't hurt at all. Now Joana's family thinks that Omero's was working with the kobolds. After hearing his sad tale you agree to deliver the letter and go to her house.
Joana reads the letter and say that Omero wants them to elope. She also says that her nephew Lentas is the main force stopping the families from re-uniting. She wished there was a way to change his attitude about the whole affair.
You decide to see what you can do, and finally track down Lentas in a cave just outside of the Slums of Thylysium. As you walk in you see him talking to Unknown Business Partner. He asks if Joana sent you> He doesn't think very highly of her and her romance. As long as the families are not talking to each other he says he doesn't have to share the business with his partners, which must be some family members. He realizes you know too much now. While he and his unknown partner teleport out, the kobolds and thieves within the cave now turn hostile and attack. You fight your way out of the cave. Obviously he thought you wouldn't survive the battle.
You know you have to warn the family of his treachery and head back to Omero and tell him what you found out. He says that if he was ready to kill you then Joana isn't safe.
You and Omero rush over to Joana's house to find that Lentas is already. He seems a bit surprised you're still alive. After saying something about if you want a job done right you need to do it yourself, he attacks you. Unfortunately for him, he's not much of a fighter and you defeat him.
You also see his unknown business partner in the house. as you run over to confront him he yells 'Stop! I am Joana's father". Huh? He was supposed to have died in the kobold attack. What is going on here? He didn't want Joana to marry Omero since she is the sole heir of the family business. Lentas talked him into the scheme of faking his death and consorting with kobolds. The whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense to you. He admits the whole thing has been a big mistake and he is sorry for all the trouble it has caused. He's agreed to hand over the business to Joana as soon as possible and he will no longer object to the two of them getting married.
Joana thanks you for your help. She shudders to think what might have happened if you hadn't intervened.
This ends part 3 of the chain quest. Part 4, Diligent Apprentices takes place north of the Dragonmaw Pass gates.
