Detailed Walkthrough
You are given this quest once you enter Carnach's lair, so it's one of the simplest quests. Locate Carnach in the big cave, and kill him.
Once you've finished him off, return to Mer-Kil (follow the green arrows backwards):
Mer-Kil keeps his promise and tells you where to find some answers about the Great Machine:
He even offers you an easier way to get there. Enter the green portal near him, which will take you to the swamplands and to new adventures.
