Detailed Walkthrough
Kratos examines the scroll and realizes it's a very powerful one. It's written in conjurer's blood and can be used to summon a demon. He does not have the necessary expertise to unravel it's mysteries and suggests you travel to Kufferath Castle and speak with Archmage Saewald.
So you head north to the castle and locate the Archmage. He examines the scroll and starts to decipher it.

He's almost done removing the protective spell when everything goes wrong. He shouts 'Baron Dem...' before collapsing in a heap. At the same moment a Demon appears out of nowhere. He must have triggered the spell on the scroll! You go into 'battle mode' in an instant and press the attack.
| ||
Once you defeat the the demon you speak to one of the guards. He urges you to speak to Baron Urtamark immediately.
| ||
You head over to the Baron's house and talk to him. He's sure the Archmage was trying to say 'Baron DeMordrey'. So he's behinf the Unholy Crusaders ! The Baron now knows he in dire straits. He was expecting reinforcements from DeMordrey which he now knows will never arrive. He's also got the Crusaders laying seige to his castle and believes they are digging a sapper cave to blow up the outer wall. He's short on manpower and begs you to take care of the tunnel for him before it's too late for the castle. If you accomplish that he wants you to meet up with one of his officers.

Notes
If you haven't already done so, there's another quest waiting at the end of the road leading to Trellheim Manor called The Lost Letter. It's a short one and as long as you're in the area, might as well slay multiple birds with one stone. The Shadow Warrior also has a Class Quest in the basement that can also be done at the same time. There is also an Ascaron Employee located just inside the front door if you've already managed to activate the Epic Office Quest
