Chance of finding special items: +X This item modifier increases the likelihood of finding Set and Unique items. Rare and magical items with better quality are also more likely to be found.
This modifier was changed with the release of Underworld. In the original Sacred & Plus, the modifier found on items was a percentage; in Underworld the value found on items is a number. The values on all equipment pieces are summed and the result is converted to a percent using a non-linear equation. The effects are diminishing in value – the difference between 10 and 20 is greater than that between 60 and 70, for example.
The formula used to convert flat value bonus to % is y = 10*vx
For example, Chance of finding special items +122 yields 110%.
