Explore the beauty of Christmas Island.
|
Beginning the Journey
Go to the Thylysium Port and look for the Christmas Island Kobold.
After you've spoken to him he will offer you the quest that will take you to Christmas Island.
At this time of year the regular Captain is away on holidays. Mysteriously, his replacement is a rather short pointy eared fellow. Speaking to the Kobold Captain nearby will send you off on your journey to save Christmas.
He will take you to Christmas Island, a new island who's port you can now access. You can drag your map up to the top right corner to see it and be taken to it after clicking upon it. When you have arrived at Christmas Island, travel North, straight along the only path/road, until you find Master Machinist Gundulph
Can Christmas still be saved
Speak to Gundulph, he has an urgent request for you. You will fight Christmas Ghosts, make sure you have Fire or Magic damage to easily take out the nice new glowing Christmas Mobs...they're tough. Follow Gundulph's directions and defeat the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future who are guarding the Tree of Wonders.
After defeating the Ghosts, retrieve a single branch from the Tree of Wonders by clicking on the tree itself and bring it back to Gundulph who will use it to fix the snow machine.
After giving the branch to Gundulph, wait while he walks back to the snow machine and then attempts to fix it. He will fail and walk back to you while you wait. He will then ask you to help him as he says the lever is stuck. Click ok, and then click directly on the snow machine. After clicking upon the snow machine, it will work and awaken the Christmas Ogre. Walk back to Gundulph who will now wait to talk to you saying you have awoken the Christmas Ogre whom you can now walk to and speak to.
Dress Code
The Christmas Ogre is whining because someone has stolen his Christmas Ogre costume.
The evil Dark Fairies have stolen it, and it's up to you to find it and save Christmas! Travel north east around the mountain and then eastward to find those dastardly fairies. Kill the four Dark Fairies who look like small blue harpies. By using your tab map you can find them easily and, after defeating each of the four, they will drop one of the four pieces of the Christmas Ogre's Costume. Make sure you have them all and don't walk into that cave near the area...yet. Your map will now show that you have to walk North, follow the grey pointer marker on your mini map and it will take you to the leader of the Dark Fairies. Defeat the Dark Fairy and enter the cave just behind him.
Feathers and Gnawed Bones Area - This is a cave. Defeat the first group of Dark Fairies, and you will come upon a bridge. Before crossing the bridge, make sure you're girded up for the coming battle. There's a ferocious Ice Hydra here guarding the Christmas Ogre's beard.
Make especially sure your buffs are working before walking into battle as enemies in Christmas Valley can strip your buffs and leave you pantless. The Ice Hydra does poison damage, make sure you have clicked upon the correct resistance in your relics wheel to make sure you have matched the correct resistance versus the Ice Hydra's damage. Another tip is to see if it's possible to kill his defending Dark Fairies first before going into battle. Good luck!
After defeating the Ice Hydra, pick up your loot, the Ogre's Beard.
Leave the cave and travel south to the Christmas Ogre.
After speaking to the Christmas Ogre, he will tell you how happy he is that you have found his things, and will send you south east to the Christmas Village to speak to head kobold Schmucker. This ends the Dress Code quest.
Saving the Snowman
After the short walk to Christmas Village (follow your quest marker on the mini-map) you will meet head kobold Schmucker.
He is complaining that the materials for the snowman have been stolen, and that he saw the rabbit run off with the carrot, that a kobold took the coal, and he has no idea where the scarf and cap are. It's up to you to find the items or there will no snowman for Christmas.
Use your quest marker to find the rabbit who will tell you he's not willing to give up the carrot unless you find her some apples for trade.
After returning to Christmas Village, you will find the apples lying in a sack upon the ground.
Pick them up and return to the rabbit who will give you the carrot in exchange for the apples.
Follow your Quest Marker to go north and pick up two large snowballs.
Follow the Quest Marker south east to meet a Very Cold Kobold. He will tell you that he will only give you the piece of coal if you can find him four branches that he can use in his fireplace as replacement for the coal.
Travel west to pick up 4 branches
The Firewood will be lying upon the ground, easy to pick up, and you can see them glowing upon the ground.
Then return to the Very Cold Kobold, who will now exchange his piece of coal for the firewood and tell you that Master Bruin has taken the hat and scarf which you will need to next procure. Master Bruin, as it turns out, is in fact a Polar Bear. Defeat him and you will get the scarf and hat.
Return to Christmas Village and speak to Schmucker who, upon receiving his items for the snowman will allow you the honor of completing this Christmas masterpiece. You will see a large snowball nearby upon which you can click.
It will then animate and automatically decorate itself into the snowman. Saving the Snowman quest complete.
The Christmas Tree
Walk back to needy Schmucker who once again has a quest for you, this time to find the Ents who have stolen the Christmas Tree decorations. Travel north east to find and defeat the the targets shown on your map. There are 3 in all and the final one being the Ent.
He is guarded by Former Christmas Trees. The 3 target trees are all plant champions who will only use physical damage. Trusty fire will finish them off quickly but beware of being frozen.
Pick up the Christmas decorations they drop and return to Schmucker. Schmucker will tell you to decorate the potted Christmas tree which will spawn nearby. Click on it.
Stolen Wishlist
The Christmas Ogre, who is nearby will now have a Quest for you. The bag with Christmas Wishes has been stolen, and you will have to defeat a few Yeti's to get it back. Watch out for Walther the leader. The cave is locked so you'll need to find another way in. Another entrance will now be spawned which can be tricky to find. Pay attention to your Quest Marker here on your mini map. Travel North, then East and then South to the other cave entrance. You will have to defeat Yeti's along the way who have resistance v.s. fire damage. Switch to another element to defeat them quickly. Continue traveling, cross the bridge, and you will come to a cave. Within the cave - Walther's Hideaway - is Walther, the Troll Boss.
He is an exceptionally hard boss to kill, so as a strategy to consider first, you can simply retrieve both the Christmas Wish list and the Key to the Yeti's Cave, which are found beside the Troll Boss's throne instead of attempting to tackle him right away. Defeating the Troll Boss is not necessary to complete the Quest.
If you choose to opt out for the pick up and dash instead of trying to kill Walther, run up to the throne as quick as you can, spam your "Q" key to pick both the Christmas Wishes list and the key to the Yeti's cave. Stick your tongue out at Walther while running out of the cave as quickly as you can all the way back to the Christmas Ogre back in Christmas Village. Of course, if you wish to tackle Walther, remember that magic resistance will have the best protection against Walther's melee, although he will cast fire damage trap spells as well. He will also cast Expulse Magic (the purple rings) which neutralizes certain buffs and most magical attacks... a High Elf may have great difficulty against him. Bring in magical damage for your best shot at taking him out, and many, many health potions. Good luck.
Disturbing the Peace
After you have returned to Christmas Village, the Christmas Ogre will be waiting to speak to you. Accept his request and a few steps away, within Christmas Village, the last enemy in this quest, a dragon called Grinch will spawn.
Return to the Christmas Ogre and speak to him. He will thank you and allow you to open your presents. Look under the potted Christmas Tree that you helped decorate, and there will be a beautifully wrapped present upon which you can click.
Congratulations! You have saved Christmas!
Handing Out Presents
Remember to have a lot of room in your inventory. The Christmas Ogre is particularly generous this year, has lots of Christmas Presents, and you want to make sure you have lots of rooms for all the goodies.

- A collection of new uniques,Christmas Presents, are the Christmas Ogre's generous reward for helping Christmas come to Ancaria.
- Fire damage works very well in Christmas Valley against Christmas Island Enemies, but magic works even better as the Yeti's have no resistance against it, while having significant resistance against fire.
- As mentioned up above, it is not necessary to kill Walther, but instead collect the two items on the ground near him and then escape back to the Christmas Ogre.
- Beware of Christmas Island Enemies stripping you of your buffs. Especially when going into battle against the Ice Hydra. It's protecting Dark Fairies will quickly debuff players. Make sure your character has not bee debuffed before going into battle against it as it's critical damage is astonishingly high and has been known to take out players in two hits. Kill all surrounding mobs before engaging it and make sure your resistances are as high as possible against poison damage.
