Each hit drains own life energy: XX% is an Item Modifier, frequently referred to as pain. When this is active during combat, a number of health points (a percentage of the damage you are inflicting) are first deducted from your life, before subsequent calculations are made – such as Wounds Increase Damage Dealt. If your WIDD and Life Leech are high enough, you become a more effective fighter by the use of this modifer.
