Amazon healers have long since ascertained the potent toxicity of their native flora. Any Amazon warrior devoted to this study is able to recognize particularly lethal strains of plant life, even while travelling in foreign lands. This knowledge allows her to call upon and create weapons from particularly virulent thorns. This is a Spell Damage Based Combat Art. Aspect - Amazon Magic Innate Abilities (Lvl 1) Damage: 37-37 (Roughly 75% Poison and 25% Physical) Distance between Thorns: -9.8% (Distance decreases per CA level. Thorns get closer together) Thorns: 9 Regeneration Time: 8.6s Modifications See also: Sacred 2:Combat Art Modifications Bronze Thorns - Adds more thorns to Plague Spears. Density - Decreases distance between thorns, thus causing more damage to nearby opponents. Silver Thorns - Adds more thorns to Plague Spears. Pestilence - Inflicts additional poison damage over time (4.2/s + 2.6/s per level). Gold Scourge - Plague Spears will also hit opponents next to the target. Stings - Increases the base poison damage of each thorn by 35 + 17.5 per level.

Skills and Attributes

The following skills will affect this combat art:

• Amazon Magic Lore - improves combat art damage, critical chance and casting speed, allows for modification points.

• Amazon Magic Focus - reduces regeneration time and allows for higher level combat art without penalty, allows for modification points.

• Concentration - directly improves regeneration time

• Ancient Magic - directly improves combat art damage and lowers opponents' resistance to its damage

• Combat Discipline - will increase the damage of this combat art and lower its regeneration time if it is placed in a combo.

• Damage Lore - will improve the chance, duration, and strength of the secondary damage effects triggered by Plague Spears: Poisoning and Open Wounds

The following attributes will affect this combat art:

• Intelligence will increase its damage and spell intensity

• Stamina will lower regeneration time

Usage Strategies

• Inner Sight will increase this Combat Art's damage.
• Plague Spears launches a stream of thorns projecting from the ground. They launch in a straight and narrow line in the direction of casting.
• This CA has a long casting animation, although Cast Speed +% modifiers will help to decrease it. It is also cast much more quickly while mounted.
• Works most effectively against large, slow opponents who will be hit by many thorns at once. It is less effective against small opponents who are likely to only contact a single thorn. At high CA levels this becomes less of a problem, as the damage increases significantly.
• Opponents can first be rooted or stunned to hold them in place before Plague Spears is launched at them.

Pros and Cons

Pros

• At high CA levels, can do very high damage to large monsters (bosses, dragons).
• With the Density and Thorns mods, thorns count can get as high as 28 or more, with the distance between reduced to -70& at very high levels.

Cons

• Difficult to hit more than a few targets at once unless they are lined up, due to the linear nature of the Combat Art.
