- Accumulator Trophy: A consumable item which requires Warding Energy Lore to use
- Achievements: A scrolling list of accomplishments, shown when logging on or receiving a new one
- Acute Mind: A Dryad Combat Art
- Adornments of the Ancestors: A High Elf set
- AI: Artificial Intelligence; how monsters behave
- Alchemy: A General Skill
- AM: Abbreviation for Ancient Magic
- Amplifying Discharge: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Amulet: An item worn around the neck (necklace); can be forged into some slots. Sometimes called an Amu or Ammy.
- Ancaria: The fictional land in which Sacred 1 and 2 take place. It contains many different regions to be explored.
- Ancestral Fireball: A High Elf Combat Art
- Ancient Bark: A Dryad Combat Art (Buff)
- Ancient Magic: A Combat Art Skill
- Animal: A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- Anneal: A Blacksmith Art which can be forged into a slot
- Anvil: Found on the Inventory panel, it allows a character with the Blacksmith skill to forge. Also the icon for a Blacksmith NPC.
- AoE: Abbreviation for Area of Effect
- AR: Abbreviation for Attack Rating
- Archangel's Wrath: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Archimedes Beam: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Area of Effect: Damage which affects multiple targets in a wide radius. Commonly abbreviated as AoE.
- Armatin's Legacy: A Shadow Warrior set
- Armor / Armour: An item worn on the body to provide defense and other benefits.
- Armor Lore: A Defensive Skill
- Arrant Pyromancer: An Aspect of the High Elf
- Artamark: The Human Region of Ancaria. Read the Artamark Book.
- Arrant Pyromancer Focus: A Secondary High Elf Aspect Skill
- Arrant Pyromancer Lore: A Primary High Elf Aspect Skill
- Ascaron: The Publisher of Sacred and Sacred 2
- Aspect: One of three groups of Combat Arts that each character has.
- Assailing Somersault: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Astral Lord: An Aspect of the Shadow Warrior
- Astral Lord Focus: A Primary Shadow Warrior Aspect Skill
- Astral Lord Lore: A Primary Shadow Warrior Aspect Skill
- Astute Supremacy: An Aspect of the Inquisitor
- Astute Supremacy Focus: A Secondary Inquisitor Aspect Skill
- Astute Supremacy Lore: A Primary Inquisitor Aspect Skill
- Attack Rating: Calculates your chance to hit an opponent. Often abbreviated as AR.
- Attack Value: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to hit
- Attributes: The six primary statistics of all characters: Strength, Stamina, Vitality, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Willpower.
- AU: Australia (uses UK version or server)
- Augmenting Guidon: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art
- Auto Leveling: Opponents scale in level as the character levels. For more information, see Combat and Game Basics.
- Axe: A one handed Weapon (Hafted Weapons)

- Backstory: The myth, lore, and history of Sacred 2. See also Game Summary.
- Baneful Smite: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Bargaining: A General Skill
- Bastard Sword: A one handed Weapon (Sword Weapons)
- Battery: An item used exclusively by the Temple Guardian
- Battle Extension: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Battle Stance: A Seraphim Combat Art (Buff)
- BeeEffGee: A Seraphim Combat Art (Buff)
- Belligerent Vault: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art

- Bestiary: A listing of opponents.
- BFG: Abbreviation for Big F*cking Gun, the Seraphim Combat Art BeeEffGee
- Black Curse: A Dryad Combat Art
- Blacksmith: A General Skill/An NPC who can forge items into slots
- Blacksmith Art: One of three different Combat Arts which a Blacksmith can forge into a slot. (Taking the Blacksmith skill gives that character three additional exclusive Arts which he can socket without a Blacksmith NPC.)
- Blazing Tempest: A High Elf Combat Art
- Block Chance: Combat Arts: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to block a melee attack
- Block Chance: Projectiles: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to block a ranged attack
- Blowgun: A two handed Weapon (Ranged Weapons)
- Book: A found item which can be viewed from a tab in your Log. There are 46 different books.
- Boss: A unique difficult monster. See Bestiary.
- Bow: A two handed Weapon (Ranged Weapons). Read the Archery Book.
- Branch Trophy: A consumable item which requires Alchemy to use.
- Bronze Difficulty: Easiest of five difficulty modes: good for beginners and new hardcore characters
- Bronze Modification: The first of three enhancement choices available for a Combat Art
- Buff: A Combat Art with a persistent bonus or penalty, which is equipped in a Buff slot. Up to three simultaneous Buffs can be used with Concentration Mastery.
- Buff Slot: An area of the GUI where Buffs can be equipped and enabled.
- Bug: A glitch or software defect in the game. Bugs can be reported on the main Sacred 2 forum.

- CA: Abbreviation for Combat Art
- Cabalistic Voodoo: An Aspect of the Dryad
- Cabalistic Voodoo Focus: A Secondary Dryad Aspect Skill
- Cabalistic Voodoo Lore: A Primary Dryad Aspect Skill
- Call of the Forest: A Dryad set
- Callous Execution: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Campaign of Light: A "good" path, in which characters choose to assist others in the questline. See Game Summary and Deities.
- Campaign of Shadows: A "chaotic" path, in which characters choose to do what they want, rather than fighting for a cause. See Game Summary and Deities.
- Capricious Hunter: An Aspect of the Dryad
- Capricious Hunter Focus: A Primary Dryad Aspect Skill
- Cascading Shroud: A High Elf Combat Art
- Carrier Imp: An in-game item usable in Closed Multiplayer only. It comes with the Collector's Edition or is purchasable separately for some regions. When summoned, the Carrier Imp brings the player chest to the character's current location.
- Casting Speed: An item modifier which affects the character's rate of casting a spell
- CE: Abbreviation for Collector's Edition
- Celdrahil's Pandemonium: A High Elf set
- Celestial Magic: An Aspect of the Seraphim
- Celestial Magic Focus: A Secondary Seraphim Aspect Skill
- Celestial Magic Lore: A Primary Seraphim Aspect Skill
- Champion: An opponent which is more difficult than an ordinary foe but not as hard as a boss.
- Chance for Burn: A DoT item modifier which affects the character's chance to cause an opponent to catch on fire
- Chance for Critical Hits: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to increase damage dealt
- Chance for Poison: A DoT item modifier which affects the character's chance to become poisoned
- Chance to Evade: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to avoid a hit
- Chance to Find Valuables: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to get better items. See Enhanced Perception.
- Chance to Halve Regeneration Time: An item modifier which affects the length of regeneration time
- Chance to Inflict Wounds: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to cause physical DoT. Wounds come in four levels: Open, Deep, Serious, and Deadly.
- Chance to Reflect: Close Combat: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to reflect damage back at an attacker
- Character: There are six playable characters in Sacred 2. Commonly called a Char or a Toon.
- Charge: One of three Horse Combat Arts
- Charged Grid: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Chest: The player's stash for storing items. Can be found in various locations around Ancaria. See GUI.
- Christmas Island: Additional Christmas Quest area introduced in a patch
- Chunk of Lava: When forged into a slot, it converts a portion of physical damage to fire damage.
- Class: One of the six playable characters in Sacred 2
- Cleansing Brilliance: A Seraphim Combat Art (Buff)
- Closed: Closed multiplayer. Game Mode where characters are stored on Ascaron's servers and are less prone to cheating than Open MP.
- Club: A one handed Weapon (Hafted Weapons)
- Clustering Maelstrom: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Cobalt Strike: A High Elf Combat Art
- Cold Grave: A Shadow Warrior set
- Collateral Damage: Found when clicking the Σ on the Inventory panel. Shows how many kills a character on the Path of Light has made.
- Collector's Edition: A retail version of the game which contains bonuses such as the Elite Graphics disc, the online Carrier Imp, an art book, and a music CD.
- Combat Alert: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Combat Art: Basic gameplay unit, equivalent to skills and spells in other games. Commonly abbreviated CA. Each character has 15 CAs.
- Combat Art Slot: An area of the GUI where CA's and Combos can be equipped
- Combat Discipline: A Combat Art Skill
- Combat Modules CC10: A Temple Guardian set
- Combat Reflexes: A Defensive Skill
- Compass: An area of the GUI which shows direction and quest location
- Concentration: A Combat Art Skill
- Concentration Potion: Decreases regeneration time of all Combat Arts when consumed
- Console: Command line interface, accessed by pressing ~ (tilde).
- Constitution: A Defensive Skill
- CR: Abbreviation for Combat Reflexes
- Crit: Abbreviation for Critical Hit
- Critical Hit: Causes an attack to do extra damage
- Crystal Skin: A High Elf Combat Art (Buff)
- CTD: Abbreviation for Crash to Desktop (when the game exits suddenly)
- CtfV: Abbreviation for Chance to find Valuables. Also FV or MF.
- Cybernetic Tormentor: A Temple Guardian set
- CZ: Czech version or server
D
- Daerwain's Revenge: A Dryad set
- Dagger: A one handed Weapon (Sword Weapons)
- Damage Lore: An Offensive Skill
- Damage Mitigation: Physical: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to negate a portion of a physical attack
- Damage of Enraged Players: An item modifier which increases the character's damage output as he or she becomes more wounded
- Damage over Time: A secondary effect such as being poisoned or burning. Commonly abbreviated as DoT.
- Darting Assault: A Dryad Combat Art
- Dashing Alacrity: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Dazzle: A Divine Gift granted by choosing Lumen as a Deity
- DE: German version or server
- Deathblow: An item modifier which increases the character's damage output
- Deathly Spears: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Death Warrior: An Aspect of the Shadow Warrior
- Death Warrior Focus: A Primary Shadow Warrior Aspect Skill
- Dedicated Blow: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Defense Value: The additive value of a character's armor, shields, and defense modifiers
- Deity: One of six Deities (or Gods) which must be chosen when creating a new Character.
- Delphic Arcania: An Aspect of the High Elf
- Delphic Arcania Focus: A Secondary High Elf Aspect Skill
- Delphic Arcania Lore: A Primary High Elf Aspect Skill
- Demon: A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- Demonic Blow: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art
- Demon Tooth Trophy: A consumable item which requires Alchemy to use
- Denderan's Tactical Genius: A Shadow Warrior set
- Determined Justice: An Inquisitor set
- Detheya's Agility: A Dryad set
- Detrimental Magic Effects: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to avoid or negate DoT from magic based attacks
- Devout Guardian: An Aspect of the Temple Guardian
- Devout Guardian Focus: A Primary Temple Guardian Aspect Skill
- Dex: Abbreviation for Dexterity
- Dexterity: One of the six available Attributes
- Deylen's Power: An Inquisitor set
- Difficulty Level: There are five levels of difficulty: Bronze (easiest), Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Niobium (hardest)
- Dislodged Spirit: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Divine Devotion: A General Skill
- Divine Gift: Also called God Spell. An additional Combat Art granted by the player's chosen Deity. Divine Devotion will decrease the regeneration time.
- Divine Protection: A Seraphim Combat Art
- DoT: Abbreviation for Damage over Time
- Dragon: A type of opponent, with the exception of Mer-Kil, the friendly Dragon. See Bestiary or read the Dragon Book.
- Dragon Islands: The Dragon Region of Ancaria

- Elite Graphics: An additional DVD in the Collector's Edition containing the enhanced graphics textures
- Endijian's Artifacts: A Seraphim set
- Energy (Enemy): A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- Energy Pistol: A one handed Weapon (Ranged Weapons)
- Energy Shield: A Seraphim and Temple Guardian CA-based defense
- Energy Weapon: A two handed Weapon (Ranged Weapons)

- Enhanced Perception: A General Skill
- EP: Abbreviation for Enhanced Perception. Sometimes called Magic Find or MF.
- Equipment: Area of the Graphical User Interface where basic gear is placed, seen when opening the Inventory panel.

- Escort Quest: A quest which forces the player to bring an NPC from one location to another
- Eternal Flame: A Dryad set

- EU: European version or server
- Exalted Warrior: An Aspect of the Seraphim
- Exalted Warrior Focus: A Primary Seraphim Aspect Skill

- Exp: Abbreviation for Experience
- Experience: A number which increases as a character kills opponents, and allows passage to the next level when enough experience points are earned.
- Expulse Magic: A High Elf Combat Art

- Faladal's Blizzard: A High Elf set
- Fan Art: Original drawings or illustrations created by players
- Fiery Ember: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Fire: A type of damage. See Chunk of Lava or read the Fire Book.
- Fire Demon: A High Elf Combat Art (Buff)
- Flaring Nova: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Fog of War: The black areas of the map which the character has not yet explored.
- Forens: The Goddess of Philosophy and Wisdom (Light). Read Forens' Book.
- Forest Flight: A Dryad Combat Art
- Forging: Using a Blacksmith or the Blacksmith Skill to insert an item into a slot
- FPS: Frames per Second (can be viewed using a third-party utility such as Fraps)
- FR: French version or server
- Frenetic Fervor: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Frenzied Rampage: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art
- Frost Flare: A High Elf Combat Art
- Furious Emblazer: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- FV: Abbreviation for Chance to find Valuables

- Garments of the Storms: A High Elf set
- Gear: Items a character can wear or equip, such as armor, weapons, shields, and jewelry
- Ghost: A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- Glacial Thorns: A High Elf Combat Art
- Goblin: One of the many Races of Ancaria. See Bestiary.
- God: One of six Deities which must be chosen when creating a new character.
- God Spell: Also called Divine Gift. An additional Combat Art granted by the player's chosen Deity. Divine Devotion will decrease the regeneration time.
- Gold: A gold coin is the basic unit of monetary exchange in Ancaria.
- Gold Difficulty: Difficulty mode attainable after completing Silver in Single Player or level 60 in Multiplayer.
- Goldenglade Touch: A Dryad Combat Art
- Gold Modification: The third of three enhancement choices available for a Combat Art
- Grand Invigoration: A High Elf Combat Art (Buff)
- Graphical User Interface: The game controls; how the user interacts with the game. Also called GUI, User Interface, or UI.
- Grave: Graves and tombs can be found in various cemeteries, and contain readable inscriptions (often "Easter Eggs" from Sacred 1 players).
- Grim Resilience: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art (Buff)
- Gruesome Inquisition: An Aspect of the Inquisitor
- Gruesome Inquisition Focus: A Primary Inquisitor Aspect Skill
- Guardians of Light: A Temple Guardian set
- Guardians of Shadows: A Temple Guardian set
- GUI: Abbreviation for Graphical User Interface. Also called User Interface or UI.

- Hafted Weapons: An Offensive Skill
- Halberd: A two handed Weapon (Pole Arms)
- Hallowed Restoration: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Hamachi: An Internet connection which emulates LAN play.
- Hammer: A one handed Weapon (Hafted Weapons)
- Hardcore: Mode of play in which a character has only one life. Commonly abbreviated as HC.
- Harpy Feather Trophy: A consumable item which requires Alchemy to use
- HC: Abbreviation for Hardcore
- HE: Abbreviation for High Elf
- Health: Life, or how many hitpoints a character has
- Health Potion: Heals an amount of lost hitpoints on both player and escort(s) when consumed
- Heavenly Justice: A Seraphim set
- Hellhound: The Shadow Warrior's Special Mount
- High Elf: One of the six playable characters in Sacred 2. Commonly abbreviated as HE.
- High Elf (Enemy): A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- High Elf's Merry Christmas Set: A Christmas set received after completing the Christmas Quest as a High Elf
- Hitpoints: Units of health. Character dies when HPs reach 0.
- Horse: A purchasable mount used for increasing movement speed
- Horse Trader: An NPC who buys and sells mounts
- HP: Abbreviation for Hitpoints (health)
- Human (Enemy): A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- Humanoid Monster: A type of opponent. See Bestiary.

- Ice: A type of damage. See Ice Crystal or read the Ice Book.

- Insignia of Balefulness: An Inquisitor set
- Inspiration: A Divine Gift granted by choosing Forens as a Deity
- Instill Belief: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Int: Abbreviation for Intelligence
- Intelligence: One of the six available Attributes
- Iron Ore Trophy: A consumable item which requires Alchemy to use
- Island: The starting island where players in Closed, Open, or LAN games begin. Also called "Multiplayer Island" or "The Island of Many Roads."
- Item: An object named "Item" will give a small amount of gold when sold. All other interactive objects which can be equipped, consumed, read, or used in some way are generically just referred to as "items."
- Item Color: Gear comes in seven colors: Gray (low quality or junk), White (normal, ordinary, or common), Blue (magical), Yellow (rare or exceptional), Orange (legendary or epic), Gold (unique), Green (belongs to a set).

- Javelin: A two handed Weapon (Pole Arms)
- Jewelry: Rings and Amulets; can be forged into some slots
- Jolting Touch: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Jungle: The Jungle Region of Ancaria
K
- Kayser's Luck: A set usable by all classes
- Ker: The Goddess of Chaos or Evil (Exclusive Shadow). Read Ker's Book.
- Killing Spree: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art
- Kobold: One of the many Races of Ancaria. See Bestiary.
- Kuan: The God of War (Shadow). Read Kuan's Book.
- Kuan's Breath: A Divine Gift granted by choosing Kuan as a Deity
- Kybele: The Goddess of Nature and Life Force (Light). Read Kybele's Book.
L
- LAN: Local Area Network. Game Mode which connects two computers directly
- Leaf: An item which gives a small amount of gold when sold.
- Leap: One of three Horse Combat Arts
- Leather Hat Trophy: A consumable item which requires Alchemy to use
- Leaves and Twigs: A Dryad set
- Legendary: A very rare and powerful item with random statistics. Also called Epic.
- Level: Characters start at level 1 and progress toward level 200. See Experience.
- Levin Array: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Life Leeched per hit: An item modifier which allows the character to increase health as an opponent is wounded
- Light Path: Affects some quest texts and outcome. Only the Dryad, Seraphim, Shadow Warrior, Temple Guardian, and High Elf may choose this path.
- Light Saber: A special glowing sword which is possibly modeled after weapons used in the Star Wars movies.
- Lobby: The login, chat, and game creation area of the online servers
- Long Bow: A two handed Weapon (Ranged Weapons)
- Lost Fusion: An Aspect of the Temple Guardian
- Lost Fusion Focus: A Secondary Temple Guardian Aspect Skill
- Lost Fusion Lore: A Primary Temple Guardian Aspect Skill
- Lost Item: An item which shows up in the data files, but doesn't seem to appear in the PC game.
- Lucreti's Stars: A Shadow Warrior set
- Lumen: The God of Light (Exclusive Light). Read Lumen's Book.
- Lumen's Servants: A Temple Guardian set
- Lvl: Abbreviation for Level
M
- Mage Staff: A one handed Weapon (Magic Staffs)
- Magic: A type of damage. See Magic Pearl or read the Magic Book.
- Magical Hiding Place: A secret location which an item emerges from when discovered
- Magic Coup: A High Elf Combat Art
- Magic Find: Generalized term for the Chance to Find Valuables item modifier and/or Enhanced Perception.
- Magic Pearl: When forged into a slot, it converts a portion of physical damage to magic damage.
- Magic Staffs: An Offensive Skill
- Main Quest: The primary storyline. In Single Player, the Main Quest must be completed to move to the next Difficulty Level.
- Malevolent Champion: An Aspect of the Shadow Warrior
- Malevolent Champion Focus: A Primary Shadow Warrior Aspect Skill
- Malicious Totem: A Dryad Combat Art
- Map: Pressing the M key opens the large in-game map. Right-click and drag to scroll and use mouse wheel to zoom. Click and drag the middle mouse button or wheel to view a scrollable Tab-map inside the large map.
- Mastery: Placing 75 points in a Skill grants additional bonuses.
- Mechanical Parts Trophy: A consumable item which requires Warding Energy Lore to use
- Meho'Sun: A Dryad set
- Merchant: An NPC who buys and sells items.
- MF: Abbreviation for Magic Find
- Minimap: A tiny customizable map of the player's nearby terrain
- Mini Boss: Smaller unique monsters which appear at certain locations on the map
- Mob: A small group of foes; can also mean an individual monster (short for MOBile)
- Mobiculum: The Temple Guardian's Special Mount
- Modifications: Combat Arts can be upgraded by choosing up to three of six unique enhancements in a tree containing two Bronze, Silver, and Gold selections.
- Monitor Lizard: The Dryad's Special Mount
- Moribund Animus: A Dryad Combat Art (Buff)
- Mortifying Pillory: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Mount: A Horse or a Character-specific Special Mount
- Mount Island: The Region of Ancaria where the Special Mount is purchased after completing the Unique Mounts Quest
- MP: Abbreviation for Multiplayer
- Multiplayer: A Game Mode which encompasses LAN, Open Games, and Closed Games
- Multiplayer Island: The starting island where players in Closed, Open, or LAN games begin. Also called "The Island of Many Roads."
- Mystic Stormite: An Aspect of the High Elf
- Mystic Stormite Focus: A Secondary High Elf Aspect Skill
- Mystic Stormite Lore: A Primary High Elf Aspect Skill

- Open: Open multiplayer. Game Mode where characters are stored on players' computers, and are more prone to cheating than Closed MP.
- Oppopnent Level for Deathblow: An item modifier which increases the character's damage output
- Opponents chance to cause secondary effects: An item modifier which affects the character's chance to avoid DoT effects cast by an opponent
- Orc: A type of opponent. See Bestiary or read the Orcish Language or Orcish Cooking Books.
- Orc Race: One of the many Races of Ancaria. See Bestiary.
- Origin of the Seraish: A Seraphim set
- OS: Operating System (usually Windows XP or Vista)

- Pacifism: A Defensive Skill
- Paralyzing Dread: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Parchment: An item which gives a small amount of gold when sold.
- Patch: Downloadable content and bug fixes, often a source of great frustration.
- Pelting Strikes: A Seraphim Combat Art
- PL: Polish version or server
- Plant: A type of opponent. See Bestiary.
- Platinum Difficulty: Difficulty mode attainable after completing Gold in Single Player or reaching level 100 in Multiplayer.
- Poison: A type of damage. See Poison Fang or read the Poison Book or Poisons of Ancaria.
- Poison Fang: When forged into a slot, it converts a portion of physical damage to poison damage.
- Pole: A two handed Weapon (Pole Arms)
- Pole Arm: A two handed Weapon. Read the Polearms Book.
- Pole Arms: An Offensive Skill
- Portal: A point of instant access to a character once found and activated. See the Map for portal locations.
- Potion: A small bottle of liquid which grants various beneficial effects when consumed
- Potion of the Mentor: Increases experience per kill by 50% when consumed
- Potion of Undead Death: When consumed, prevents Undead enemies from reanimating after death
- Pots: Abbreviation for Potions
- Primal Mutation: A Temple Guardian Combat Art
- Proc: A slang term meaning to activate or inflict some secondary effect, such as burning (after being attacked with fire)
- Propelled Levitation: A Temple Guardian Combat Art (Buff)
- Purifying Chastisement: An Inquisitor Combat Art (Buff)
- PvE: Player versus Environment; the player attacks only monsters and cannot target other human players
- PvP: Player versus Player; the player declares hostility against other human players (must be on PvP server)

- Quest: A task to complete. Quest types include Main, Side, and Character-Specific.
- Quest Boss: A unique monster who appears at a certain point of a quest
- Questgiver: An NPC who gives the character tasks (or quests) to complete

- Radiant Pillar: A Seraphim Combat Art
- Raging Nimbus: A High Elf Combat Art
- Rallied Souls: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art
- Ranged Weapons: An Offensive Skill
- Ravaged Impact: A Dryad Combat Art
- Raving Thrust: An Inquisitor Combat Art
- Rear Up: One of three Horse Combat Arts
- Recovery Elixir: Potion which neutralizes DoT effects when consumed
- Recurved Bow: A two handed Weapon (Ranged Weapons)
- Reflective Emanation: A Shadow Warrior Combat Art (Buff)
- Regen: Abbreviation for Regeneration Penalty
- Regeneration Penalty: An item modifier which affects the character's rate of Combat Art usage
- Region: A geographic area easily accessible from the Multiplayer Island
- Relic Holder: A rotatable part of the GUI which contains groups of Relics
- Relics: Items which boost armor and one of four General Skills, and are inserted into the player's Relic Holder
- Res: Abbreviation for Resurrection, or returning to life after dying (softcore only)
- Resurrection Monolith: The last-activated shrine (shown in blue on the map) is where a character reappears after death, by pressing F12, or when starting a game session in Softcore Single Player (provided F9 has not been pressed to save location). In Multiplayer, characters can use the last-activated shrine as an extra Portal.

- Selling Price: An item modifier which increases the value of that particular item only
- Sera: Abbreviation for Seraphim

- Seraphim Island: The Seraphim Region of Ancaria
- Seraphim's White Christmas Set: A Christmas set received after completing the Christmas Quest as a Seraphim
- Server: Computer which hosts Multiplayer games and is accessible from the Lobby.
- Set: A collection of matching gear, which gives extra bonuses for equipping some or all of its items. Set items are displayed with green text.
- Shadow Path: Affects some quest texts and outcome. Only the Dryad, Inquisitor, Shadow Warrior, Temple Guardian and High Elf may choose this path.
- Shadow Step: A High Elf Combat Art

- Silver Modification: The second of three enhancement choices available for a Combat Art
- Single Player: A Game Mode where you play locally on your own computer and without other players
